8 Bible Verses About Budgeting and Planning

"Thou shalt budget."

 

Well, not exactly.

 

While the Bible does not say, "Thou shalt budget," there are several verses that speak to the wisdom of planning. As stewards of God's resources, budgeting is an incredible tool to leverage. It is a blueprint for mission--helping you ensure that resources get to where you desire them to go. So, here are a few verses that encourage you to plan well.

 
The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty.— Proverbs 21:5
 
 

The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty. – Proverbs 22:3

 

By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures. – Proverbs 24:3-4

 

Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control. – Proverbs 25:28
